1. Agreement

By creating an account or using Lumen, you agree to these terms on behalf of yourself and any organisation you represent. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. Your account

You are responsible for keeping credentials secure and for activity under your account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorised access. You must be at least 16 years old to use the service.

3. Your content

You keep all rights to the documents you connect. You grant us a limited licence to process that content only to operate the service for you.

You confirm you have the right to connect the content you index, and that doing so does not violate any agreement or law that applies to you.

4. Acceptable use

Do not use the service to break the law, infringe rights, upload malware, attempt to reverse engineer the platform, resell access without a written agreement, or run automated load that degrades service for others.

5. Plans, billing and refunds

Paid plans renew automatically each period until cancelled. You can cancel at any time and retain access to the end of the paid period. Fees already paid are non-refundable except where required by law.

We may change pricing with 30 days' notice. Existing subscriptions keep their price until the following renewal.

6. Availability and support

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service on any plan without a signed service level agreement. Scheduled maintenance is announced in advance where practical.

7. Accuracy disclaimer

Generated answers are provided with citations so you can verify them. They may still be incomplete or incorrect. Do not rely on outputs as legal, financial, medical or professional advice.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability is limited to the amount you paid in the twelve months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.

9. Termination

You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms, with notice where possible.

10. Changes and contact

We may update these terms; material changes are announced by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Questions: hello@lumen.example.com.
